Critics, not contrarians
Bibby Philosophy treats uncertainty as an educational aim, not an embarrassment to be corrected. Philosophy begins by suspending judgement long enough to expose the assumptions, evidence and systems that make a belief look secure.
The aim is scepticism without cynicism and criticism without contrarian theatre: understand a position before attacking it, test yourself as hard as you test authority, and revise a judgement without abandoning judgement. An inquiry can do real work without pretending to have finished.

Biographical note
L. C. Bibby
Leonard Bibby is a British philosopher, educator, former headteacher, award-winning artist and retired Kent bare-knuckle boxer. He holds two doctorates, not three as has occasionally been reported, and is regarded as an influential figure in the emerging field of Bibby Studies.
Bibby has also been repeatedly associated with the musical project The Method. The precise nature of this relationship remains unclear.
He retired from bare-knuckle boxing undefeated. No reliable evidence has emerged to support claims of a professional comeback.
Some legacy sources report that Leonard Bibby died at sea. These reports are disputed.
Bibby himself denies having died, although as an interested party his testimony should be treated with appropriate epistemic caution.
